Welcome onboard! Here are a few key areas to check when setting up your Tokeet account.
☐ Are your Rentals created?
How do I do it?
Rentals can be created by importing from Airbnb: Connecting to Airbnb API
Rentals can also be created by entering in property info. How do I add and update rentals?
Why is it important?
Rentals are the most important element in Tokeet. Rentals are listings in Tokeet, which are synchronized with all your channels.
☐ Are your Rental Rates created?
How do I do it?
Rental Rates are created using the Tokeet Rates calendar: Rental Rates Calendar
Each rental needs to include at minimum a Base Rate and a Standard Rate.
Why is it important?
Creating rental rates is a prerequisite for connecting to API Channels. In the case of AirBnb only your base rate setting will apply to your listings if you do not create a more comprehensive rate plan in Tokeet.
☐ Are you connected to API Channels (Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia)?
How do I do it?
API Channel connections are added using the individual process for each API channel: AirBnb, Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda
For each API channel connection, you must Link a Rental, Import Bookings, Push Rates, and Push Availability.
Why is it important?
Being properly connected to your channels is essential to prevent costly double bookings.
☐ Are you connected to iCal Channels (Flipkey, Homeaway, and others)?
How do I do it?
iCal connections are added using the process in the following article: Connecting iCal Channels with Tokeet
For each iCal connection, you must both import a calendar into Tokeet and export a Tokeet calendar into your connected channel.
Why is it important?
Being properly connected to your channels is essential to prevent costly double bookings.
☐ Have you verified your rates and calendars in your channels?
How do I do it?
Log into your channels (Airbnb, Booking.com Extranet, Expedia Partner Central etc) and verify that your rates and calendars are correct.
Why is it important?
Checking rates and calendars in the connected channels will help ensure everything is set up correctly--and will prevent costly double bookings and reservation issues.
☐ Have you used your Tokeet email address?
How do I do it?
You can view your Tokeetmail.com email domain at Settings > Account Info. (help center). Use this email domain in your marketing channels, social networks, newsletters etc.
Why is it important?
This way, any guest emails sent to your Tokeet email address will show up in a single location: your Tokeet Message Feed.
☐ Have you connected your Payment Gateways?
How do I do it?
You can add your Stripe or PayPal accounts at Settings > Payments > Add Gateway. The following article will guide you through how to begin charging your guests through Tokeet invoices: How do I accept payments online and via credit card?
Why is it important?
Connecting your payment gateways is necessary in order to issue invoices and have them paid online, and in order to take bookings through your Tokeet website or website widget.
Connecting your Stripe account also allows you to capture guest credit card info when they book via Booking.com and Expedia.
☐ Have you created a Tokeet Website or Tokeet Widget?
How do I do it?
You can create your own Tokeet website so that you can create your very own marketing channel. For more info on creating Tokeet websites, please see the following article: Creating a website with Website Builder
If you use your own site and want to embed Tokeet widgets there, you can generate them at Settings > Widgets & More (help center)
Why is it important?
Your website acts as a valuable marketing channel.
Your website or website widget loads your current rental availability info from Tokeet, as well as your designated website rate category. Guests can send you inquiries or bookings--directly from your Tokeet website or website widgets.
☐ Have you created your Message Templates?
How do I do it?
You can create new message templates at Settings > Templates
Message Templates will allow you to either manually send a message template, or set up automation that will send the message out when a specific event occurs.
Templates can be set so that inquiry, guest, or rental specific details are automatically filled in using variables from our data dictionary.
Why is it important?
Once created, message templates can be sent to guests and your staff via Tokeet Automation, Automata, or by clicking into a particular booking in the Inquiries section.
☐ Have you set up your Tokeet Automations (Triggers)?
How do I do it?
You can create new triggers at Settings > Automations.
Why is it important?
A trigger is an instruction to Tokeet to perform a particular action when an event occurs. For example, triggers can be used to notify you and your guests via email or SMS when a new booking is received.
There are many other options, tweaks, and configurations available to you in Tokeet. For now, these are the most important.
